MTN Nigeria, the leading telecommunications company in the country, has joined forces with Amazon’s Prime Video to introduce a new streaming service option for Nigerian customers. The mobile-only subscription service, known as Prime Video Mobile Edition, offers access to Amazon’s extensive library of over 9,000 movies and 1,500 TV shows. The service will be accessible to MTN subscribers, who will also receive a reasonable data package for streaming and downloading.

The objective of this collaboration is to provide millions of Nigerians with a convenient and cost-effective way to access high-quality entertainment on their own terms, regardless of time and location. The launch of Prime Video Mobile Edition in Nigeria is a significant stride in the direction of making premium content more accessible and affordable for all customers, with the growing popularity of video-on-demand.

Prime Video Mobile Edition is anticipated to be particularly appealing to Nollywood fans in Nigeria, as the platform currently has more than 150 Nollywood titles available, with many more Nigerian originals in the pipeline. The MTN-Prime Video partnership is predicted to provide value not just to customers but also to the Nigerian film industry as a whole.

Hassan Jaber, the COO of MTN Nigeria, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration and the potential it has to benefit both MTN’s customers and the Nigerian film industry. He believes that the introduction of Prime Video Mobile Edition will make it easier and more affordable for every customer to access their desired content.

We are excited to offer Prime Video subscriptions to millions of Nigerians providing them with access to entertainment on their own terms – where and when they want it. Video-on-demand has become a major part of our lives and this launch offer is important to make every customer’s journey to their desired content more accessible and affordable. The Prime Video platform boasts thousands of titles with over 150 Nollywood titles already and with several Nigerian Originals currently in the pipeline. We are confident this relationship will bring value to both our customers and the Nigerian movie industry.
