Apple has recently unveiled the latest version of their mobile operating system, iOS 16.4, which introduces a range of new features and improvements. Among the most significant updates is the ability to receive notifications from web apps via Safari, complete with a badge count on the home screen. Users can also configure these notifications with the Focus mode to help streamline their workflow.

Another notable addition to iOS 16.4 is Voice Isolation for cellular calls, a feature that offers enhanced ambient noise reduction during phone conversations. This capability was previously available on FaceTime and other third-party VoIP call apps.

To enhance the user experience, Apple has introduced 21 new emoji symbols with the iOS 16.4 release, including hand gestures, a pink heart, a jellyfish, and a Wi-Fi symbol. The Photos app now boasts a handy feature that can identify and remove duplicate photos and videos across iCloud Share Photo Libraries, making it easier to manage your media content.

Apple Books in iOS 16.4 also brings back the beloved page turn animation, which had been removed in the previous iOS 16 update. Additionally, the mobile operating system now supports Sony’s PlayStation 5 DualSense Edge controller and features improvements to crash detection on the iPhone 14 series.

iOS 16.4 is available for installation on iPhone 8 and newer models as of today. Check out the changelog below for a full list of updates and fixes included in this latest release.
